Thankful for The Killers (& Amazon)
The new Killers album is a winner. I have enjoyed selections from all of their previous albums, but I find this fourth album is excellent cover to cover. For those of you who are not as excited about the lighter side of the Killers or you hate the 80′s/90′s pop that they can often employ – this may not be for you. But for me – excellent. And here is great Thanksgiving Day news… I got the album for 3.99 @ Amazon this morning (that price won’t last long – maybe till the end of the week – click here to check). It was most definitely worth the 4 bucks.
Below is the music video for one of the songs off the album – Human. (Apparently the song is a response to a disparaging remark that “America is raising a generation of dancers.” Thus you’ll here the term “dancer” in the chorus – which seems odd without this clarification.) Enjoy.
RYM – Panama City Beach
Just returned from the High School RYM Conference in Panama City Beach, Florida. Spending a week at the beach is rough but someone’s got to do it. Here are a list of some highlights.
- Not getting stung by a Jellyfish
- Not getting sunburned
- Becoming familiar with The Strokes
- KungFu Panda
- John Stone
- Brownies/Chocolate Cake for Breakfast
- Five Guys
- Open Mic Night
- Discounted Book Table
- Para-sailing (not in photo above – actual photos will follow)
If you are a high school student, or you have a high school student, or you know a high school student, encourage them to head down to RYM next summer. 1200 high school students, 2 blocks of beach front, multiple pools, hours of free time in the sun, great seminars and teaching, and again – 2 blocks of beach front. Next Summer – we’ll do it all again!
